Help Improve Management of Chronic Migraine: Refer a Patient to the NINDS-sponsored Chronic Migraine Treatment TrialWednesday, April 28, 2010 |
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Clinical Research Collaboration (CRC) has enrolled over 150 subjects in the Chronic Migraine Treatment Trial (CMTT). This randomized trial is testing whether the addition of propranolol to topiramate is superior to topiramate alone in reducing the number of severe headaches over a six month treatment period in persons with chronic migraine (at least 15 headaches a month for at least three months). In order to maximize the relevance of the results for the practicing physician, the trial is being conducted in physicians’ offices around the country.
