Goals & Objectives
- Provide a forum for the exchange of information related to posttraumatic headache (PTH).
- Recruit new members to the AHS with a specific interest in PTH.
- Promote research that will increase understanding of the epidemiology of PTH and the population "at-risk" of developing chronic headache post-trauma.
- Promote research related to the diagnosis, management, and prevention of PTH.
- Develop and recommend symposia for future AHS meetings.
- Increase awareness of PTH in the general public.
- Address the appropriate diagnostic testing of patients with PTH.
- Provide input into future revisions of the ICHD diagnostic criteria for PTH.
- Promote research into the pathophysiology of PTH.
- Consider special projects related to sports injuries at all levels of participation, including children and adolescents.
- Consider initiatives to aid the DOD and the VA in the treatment of PTH in veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
