Goals & Objectives
- To legitimize the study and practice of headache medicine as an academic pursuit.
- In an alliance with those all ready in a position of leadership, to define and develop an authoritative hierarchy.
- To provide a forum for the discussion of academic issues relevant to the teaching and practice of headache medicine.
- To develop education objectives and curricula for the teaching of headache medicine for medical students, interns and residents.
- To liaison with existing committees and boards involved in the development of education initiatives for the teaching of headache medicine.
- To assist in the development of headache fellowships.
- To encourage academic and basic research.
- To offer a forum for discussion of the issues associated with the practice of academic headache medicine.
- To assist in the integration of academic and private practice.
- To develop resources for use in the ongoing negotiations with public and private agencies responsible for the determination of reimbursement of headache care.
